Young Playwrights for Change

May 2017
ASC celebrated its Young Playwrights for Change finalists with staged readings of original, 10-minute plays by middle-school writers on the theme of EMPATHY IN ACTION: Combating Bullying. ASC’s regional winner was recently announced as the National Young Playwrights for Change winner by Theatre for Young Audiences/USA (TYA/USA) and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE).  His play received its own celebratory reading at One Theatre World 2017 in San Francisco.

Trailblazers Summer Camp

June 26 - August 18, 2017
Thanks to a grant from the Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS), 25 Chicago youth ages 9-16 can take part in a free, 8-week summer camp with Adventure Stage. Summer Trailblazers will learn to work as an ensemble to devise an original piece premiering August 18 with two performances at the Vittum Theater. Applications now available.

4th Annual Winter Funder-land

Since 2015, the ASC Auxiliary Board has hosted an annual winter fundraiser at Jerry's Sandwiches, kicking off our matching grant campaign and supporting our Spring production.  Stay tuned for more information on our 2018 Winter Funder-land, supporting Season 14: Literacy.
