Field Trips

For each ASC production, we offer performances to school groups. These performances take place during the school week at 10:30am.

Adventure Stage Chicago creates productions that respect the identity, intellect, and imagination of our student audience, and we strive to inspire the same in our teaching audience. We also prepare a free online Common Core-connected Learning Guide for each performance, which includes theme questions, vocabulary, classroom activities, recommended resources, and more.

Find out more about field trips to our educational matinees here.

Board

The Adventure Stage Chicago Auxiliary Board is charged with strengthening the long-term viability of ASC.  Two areas of focus include audience development and fundraising. Each year the Board operates a matching grant campaign and several special fundraising events. Please contact Mary Kate Barley-Jenkins, Managing Director, if you are interested in joining.

Give

Bringing original shows to the stage takes considerable effort – an ASC production can take more than 18 months to come to fruition, from the start of our Community Crossings process to the Curtain Conversation framing each performance. We develop our new plays in conversation with community to ensure that they are immediately relevant to the lives of young Chicagoans.

For many schools, bringing youth to see the plays is a daunting proposition given the fiscal situation in the state and at CPS.  We want every young person who helped in our play creation process to be able to see the work they impacted. Therefore, we are committed to raising $20,000 before June 30, to help subsidize the cost of tickets for youth and their schools. The ASC Auxiliary Board has offered to match all dollars we raise by June 30, up to $10,000! Any amount you give will have a doubled impact – give online today.
